Cake Truffles


The first time I made cake truffles was 2 years ago for Valentine's Day. I made it with brownies and everybody loved it! Actually I am not really a fan of mashed cake like this, but it has a cute look, good use for leftover cake, and different way to eat your usual cake. Anyway, most people will love to eat it once in a while, so it's worth making! 


So far this is the second best truffles that me and my sister made for Valentine's Day. We used vanilla sponge cake mix, coat it with strawberry flavor chocolate, and top with some grated cheddar cheese. It is so so cute, especially in yellow liner! 



Cake Truffles

Ingredients :
Vanilla sponge cake (1/2 of vanilla sponge cake mix, prepared)
Cream cheese (about 2 tbsp)
Coating : Strawberry flavored chocolate
Topping : Grated cheddar cheese

Instructions :
1. In a large bowl, crumble prepared cake until it resembles fine crumbs.
2. Add cream cheese a little bit at a time until cake can hold a ball shape, but still slightly crumbly.
3. Shape into 1-inch balls and arrange on baking sheet, freeze for 20 minutes.
4. Melt chocolate in the microwave.
5. Dip the frozen cake balls into the melted chocolate and decorate with some cheese.
